DR. BASSAM OSMAN

Chairman & Portfolio Manager

Dr. Bassam’s involvement in Islamic finance and the investment industry began in the 1980s. Before launching Iman Fund in 2000 with his team of experts, he was instrumental in founding shariah-compliant funds in America. He had already successfully served the first halal investment institution as its chairman. 

Now with over 40-years’ experience in the field, Dr. Bassam continues as Portfolio Manager for our portfolios and of Iman Fund, a position he has held since the Fund’s inception.  

Neurologist by profession and community servant by mission, Dr. Bassam Osman has also served in many leadership roles in the Muslim community. He is one of the co-founders of Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago, (CIOGC) and was Chair of its By-Laws and Membership Committees. He worked intimately with Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), as well as several other Islamic organizations such as Mosque Foundation, MECCA Center and Universal School. He currently serves as a member of the board of trustees at NAIT.

Brother Obeidallah has been directly associated with the Muslim community for the past 20 years. He has more than 25-years of experience of managing large-scale corporate companies as well as Islamic centers, mosques and schools. He established The Islamic Center of Passaic County, the largest Islamic Center in New Jersey, and also served as its president for 10 years. He also managed the Islamic Education Foundation in New Jersey and helped establish three schools.

Br. Obeidallah holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, NJ. He is currently serving as the President of Allied Asset Advisors, and as the Executive Director of North American Islamic Trust (NAIT), the parent company of AAA. NAIT is a non-profit organization serving the Muslim community to protect the properties and lands of the Islamic houses of worship and learning across America.

His strong understanding of business and finance combined with extensive knowledge of Islam, Quran, and Hadith make him a distinct asset for the Muslim Community and for the Islamic finance industry at large.

Muzammil Siddiqi, PhD

Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi is an internationally recognized name. He has dedicated nearly all his life to community service. Dr. Siddiqi is an extremely-learned, highly-experienced and well-respected Muslim role model, and a champion of interfaith relationships and dialogue around the world and especially in America.

He has received many awards over the years such as “Humanitarian of the Year” from the  National Council of Christians and Jews, and the Orange County Human Relations Commission Award. He was named “One of the top 100 most influential people who shaped Orange County in the last 25 years.”

Dr Siddiqi holds a Master’s degree in Theology from Birmingham University in England and a Ph.D. in Comparative Religion from Harvard University, USA along with his foundational Islamic and Arabic education from Medina and India. He has been associated with many Islamic organizations in several countries such as Switzerland, England, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the Indian Subcontinent, United States, and Canada, serving at high-responsibility management positions. Some of these organizations include the Islamic Center of Washington, D.C., Islamic Society of North America, Muslim Students Association, Islamic Society of Orange County, CA., and Shura Council of Southern California to name a few.

He led the Muslim Prayer at the Interfaith Prayer Service at the Washington National Cathedral and an interfaith prayer on the Fifth Anniversary of 9/11 at Ground Zero in New York at the invitation of President Bush.

Board of Trustees

The Iman Fund (Fund) is governed by its Board of Trustees (Board or Trustees). The Board has engaged Allied Asset Advisors, Inc. (AAA or the Advisor) as the Fund’s investment advisor. Subject to the general supervision of the Board, AAA is responsible for the day-to-day investment decisions of the Fund in accordance with the Fund’s declared investment objective and policies.

The Board consists of nationally and internationally known Muslim scholars and community workers. The Trustees are:

  • Dr. Bassam Osman, MD
  • Dr. Muhammad Mazen Kudaimi, MD

The Trustees meet throughout the year to oversee the Fund’s activities, compliance and regulations regarding the Fund and the Advisor, review contractual arrangements with companies that provide services to the Fund, and decide upon matters of general policy with respect to the Fund. Three of the Trustees are not “interested persons” of the Trust as that term is defined in Section 2(a)(19) of the 1940 Act. The Trustees can be reached in care of the Fund’s Investment Advisor.
